Update on Tropical Storm Arthur
Tropical Storm Arthur developed off of the east coast of Florida overnight. It was about 90 miles east of Cape Canaveral this morning.
Maximum sustained winds are 60 mph. Additional strengthening during the next 48 hours is expected, and Arthur is forecast to become a hurricane CAT 1 by Thursday.
A Hurricane Watch is in effect for portions of the North Carolina coastline from Bogue Inlet to Oregon Inlet, including Pamlico Sound, with a Tropical Storm Watch for the remainder of the North Carolina coastline southward into South Carolina, and portions of the east-central Florida coastline.
